American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring NRP certification and float capability to MBU/Antepartum units.
Details- Level 2 trauma acute care hospital setting on a high-risk L&D unit
- Unit includes 7 L&D beds, 2 C-section OR suites, and 17 postpartum beds
- Approximately 950-1000 births annually
- LDR RN handles both admit/prep/recovery for mom and baby recovery, as this is not an NBN unit
- Uses Cerner EMR with Corometric/Fetalink EFM system
- 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week
- Follows AWHONN staffing ratio guidelines
- Required to titrate drips including insulin and oxytocin
- Floats as a patient sitter throughout the hospital and to NICU if trained and comfortable
- OB provider in house 24/7, MFM on call, anesthesia in house 24/7
- Every 3rd weekend requirement, or every other weekend with block scheduling
- Holiday coverage as needed
- No call or standby requirement
- Active WI or compact RN license required
- Minimum 1 year of relevant L&D experience required
- BLS (AHA) and NRP certifications required
- Experience with high-risk L&D diagnoses such as preeclampsia, HELLP, placenta previa, PTL, and PROM preferred
- BSN not required
- Hospital-provided purple scrubs for the unit
- 3 days of orientation: 1 hospital-specific and 2 unit-specific
- Charge nurse typically does not take a patient assignment in order to assist with deliveries
- OB techs are on staff, typically one per shift
- Candidates who previously worked at the facility as permanent staff must have an end date at least 6 months prior to consideration
- Local candidates within 80 miles of the facility are eligible at a reduced rate
