Beach Attendant, Sports Core

Work Mode: Onsite

Location: Kohler, WI

Opportunity

Our team at Sports Core Health & Racquet Club offers a wide range of fitness activities, from swimming and tennis to group classes and personal training.

Responsibilities
  • Actively and diligently oversee beach and lake activity during assigned hours, enforcing safety and usage policies assertively and calmly.
  • Facilitate equipment rentals: process waivers, ensure payment, provide life jackets, enforce age restrictions, and monitor usage time.
  • Know and share usage techniques and safety guidelines for various rental equipment (pedal boats, SUP boards, kayaks, etc.).
  • After return, follow cleaning and sanitizing protocol for life jackets and paddles; secure equipment in proper storage.
  • Keep deck and beach area clean and organized (e.g., rake sand, pick up toys and towels).
  • Communicate to Take 5 via radio regarding any food or beverage requests.
  • Be trained in and employ first aid protocol or CPR, including prompt communication and incident documentation; recommend safety enhancements.
  • Enforce seasonal policies: no carry‑ins, radios, age restrictions, no fishing from shore, no horseplay, etc.
  • Ensure users are members or guests with approved access.
  • Maintain required certifications and participate in periodic refresher training.
  • Greet and interact with members and guests; promote classes, lessons, and other Sports Core or resort activities when appropriate.
  • Assist in executing special programs and events, especially youth events and programs.
  • Maintain adequate knowledge of hospitality facilities to respond to inquiries.
  • Perform start‑of‑day and end‑of‑day procedures, including cleaning and securing all equipment.

This is a seasonal opportunity beginning May 1st until the beginning of September. Shifts will vary between 10am‑8pm, weekends required.

Skills / Requirements
  • Applicants must be 16 years or older.
  • Red Cross CPR and First Aid certifications required.
  • Ideal applicants will possess a caring, friendly, authoritative demeanor.
  • Previous experience with youth programming is preferred.
  • Being water‑oriented and a good swimmer are required, plus ability to stand outdoors for periods of time and physically handle rental equipment.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

The hourly rate is $10.00. The specific hourly rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, the candidate’s education, and the work location.
