Position OverviewThe Clinical Molecular Geneticist reviews clinical DNA test data and test reports, maintains a portfolio of clinical DNA sequencing tests, and cultivates expertise in a subspecialty of genetic disease.
Essential Duties- Review genetic testing data.
- Conduct troubleshooting when necessary.
- Review the scientific literature.
- Interpret genetic variants.
- Write/edit genetic test reports and sign out laboratory test results.
- Curate gene panels to include comprehensive gene lists supported by scientific literature.
- Support process improvement projects to drive cost savings, efficiencies, and productivity.
- Troubleshoot technical problems with technical staff and ensure remedial action.
- Manage confidential information.
- Effectively communicate cross-functionally to all levels within the company.
- Maintain effective working relationships.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and in project team situations.
- Comply with SOPs, practices, and applicable regulations to ensure laboratory compliance.

- Support and comply with the company’s Quality Management System policies and procedures.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

- Work designated schedule; nights and/or weekends as needed.
- Work primarily with mobile device, tablet, or computer; perform typing for approximately 90% of typical working day.
- Travel up to 10% of working time, possibly including overnight/weekend travel.
- Doctoral Degree in Chemical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory science from an accredited institution.
- Certification by American Board of Bioanalytics (ABB) a High-Complexity Clinical Laboratory Director (HCLD) or American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ABMGG) in Laboratory Genetics and Genomics (LGG), Molecular Genetics or Cytogenetics at time of hire, maintained throughout employment.
- Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine with 3+ years in a clinical lab with director oversight, certified in anatomical or clinical pathology, or both, by the American Board of Pathology or the American Osteopathic Board of Pathology at time of hire, maintained throughout employment.
- Demonstrated ability to perform essential duties with or without accommodation.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- 4+ years of post-certification experience reviewing and signing out clinical test reports.
- 7+ years of total experience reviewing and signing out clinical test reports or equivalent.
Annual base salary ranges from $124,000 to $167,000, with potential bonus eligibility.
