Monday through Friday, 10:30 am–8 pm. Hours may vary. Must be able to work weekends.

As Sous Chef, you will be responsible for the successful operation of the Culinary Department for a 215‑bed acute care facility. The role encompasses patient dining, retail café dining, catering, and a coffee shop. This is a hands‑on position; you will assist in supervision, preparation, and cooking of various food items, develop daily menu items and their preparation and garnishment, supervise hourly associates, and work with the Executive Chef to develop new menus and assist with ordering.

• Assist the Executive Chef with managing cost controls and controlling expenditures for the account
• Assist the Executive Chef with planning and creating menus
• Produce and execute catering events
• Roll out new culinary programs in conjunction with company marketing and culinary team

• A.S. or equivalent experience
• Some progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, depending on formal degree or training
• High‑volume, complex food‑service operations experience – highly desirable
• Institutional and batch‑cooking experience helpful
• Catering experience a plus
• Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
• Must be experienced with computers, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, e‑mail, and the Internet
• Willingness to participate in patient and client satisfaction programs/activities
• Serv Safe certified – highly desirable
