Salary Range: $19.00 - $30.50

• Enforce Sanford policies and procedures with all patients, visitors and staff, patrolling and securing facility buildings and grounds as assigned.
• Monitor conduct of visitors on premises and confront unauthorized persons for questioning.
• Report safety, fire hazards or security violations.
• Respond to all requests for assistance from employees and visitors.
• Assist with any situation, problem‑solving with positive outcomes and escort personnel to and from parking areas as requested.
• Maintain records and prepare incident reports and related documents pertinent to security activities.
• Work in highly stressful situations, de‑escalating scenes as soon as possible and employing security tools including firearms to protect and preserve life, while maintaining awareness of local laws.
• Adapt to adverse conditions such as severe weather, disaster activations, fatality transport, temporary reassignment to other Sanford locations, and carry a firearm in addition to other issued security tools, meeting ongoing certification requirements.
• Demonstrate proficiency upon hire/transfer and comply with all certification requirements for carrying a firearm.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; college or vocational education preferred.
• Prior experience in healthcare security, contract security and/or law enforcement highly preferred.
• Must pass a criminal background check; prior law enforcement experience and state certification required.
• Must possess a current valid driver’s license.
• Must have basic certification by the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety within one year of hire.
