Maintenance Technician

Overview

Shift differential available for 2nd shift. Reports to Maintenance Manager.

• Perform on-demand and preventative maintenance repairs for all guest rooms, kitchen areas and public areas at Chula Vista including the adjacent employee housing buildings.
• Repairs may include plumbing, furnishings and fixtures, painting, wall cover repairs, and carpentry.
• Respond to work orders as assigned in and complete them per SOP in property's digital work order system.
• Make daily preventative maintenance inspections.
• Responsible for troubleshooting and repair of HVAC equipment, appliances, elevators, fire alarm system, doorlock system, electrical and related systems.
• Respond and perform duties in a timely and efficient manner.
• Knowledge of safety requirements; operate within OSHA standards and company safety policies at all times.
• Assist to oversee the property grounds, public areas, and hotel's guest rooms.
• Display a calm and attentive approach in solving problems and handling difficult situations, collecting information and sincerely helping to resolve them.
• Determine, communicate, and monitor personal and department achievements and performance standards on a daily basis.

  Experience and Qualifications:
  
  Skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job, operation of equipment, and adherence to safety practices.
• Ability to work with a digital work order system on a hand-held device.
• Ability to work under limited supervision and communicate with other staff positions is important.
• Must be able to follow instructions to learn the position.
• Physical Requirements: Must be in good physical condition. Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
