Description

As a maintenance technician you will perform work involving the skills of two or more maintenance or craft occupations to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of an establishment in repair. Duties may include pipe fitting, insulating, welding, machining, carpentry, rebuilding or replacing pumps, repairing electrical or mechanical equipment, installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment.

Essential Job Functions
  • Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure machines run smoothly and building systems operate efficiently.
  • Inspect drives, motors, and belts; check fluid levels; replace filters; and perform other maintenance actions following checklists.
  • Use hand and power tools (hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches) as well as precision instruments and electrical/electronic testing devices.
  • Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, and equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine solutions, consulting blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs.
  • Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work using the maintenance management system.
  • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other machinery components.
  • Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Fill out proper documentation in accordance with customer specifications and government agency requirements.
  • Aid other employees in maintaining a safe process and quality product.
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Comply with all SQF 2000 processes and procedures to assure a safe, quality product.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 1–2 years of experience as an industrial maintenance technician.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification from a vocational school or an associate degree in industrial/mechanical technology (education not required if sufficient experience is demonstrated).
  • 2–5 years in a manufacturing position with education.
  • 4–10 years of maintenance‑related experience without education.
Physical Requirements
  • Twisting, bending, and squatting while handling 50‑lb objects.
  • Lifting 60 lbs. from the ground.
  • Good finger, hand, and multi‑limb dexterity.
Schedule

We offer two shifts: 4 pm–12 am Sunday–Saturday (every other weekend off) and 12 am–8 am Sunday–Friday (every Saturday off and every other Friday off).
