Shop and Yard Laborer

Performs a variety of duties in shop and yard; and occasionally at field job sites. Perform preventive maintenance of equipment & forms; operate yard equipment; loading of trailers, material handling, and fabrication tasks and truck deliveries to job sites.

• Material handling and general activities involving carpentry and piping
• A variety of welding and simple fabricating functions
• Shop and yard maintenance and clean-up and organization
• Maintain and organize forming systems
• Operate arc and gas welding equipment, grinders, sanders, and saws
• Operate shop and yard equipment, variety of hand and power tools
• Operate Forklift (load and unloading of trailers and shelves)
• Install fabricated items when required
• Perform equipment maintenance
• Help maintain office and shop buildings
• Help pre-fab jobsite materials
• Occasionally deliver material to jobsites
• Must comply with all company safety requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Prior construction experience and knowledge desired
• Safety knowledge and skills
• Must be able to work under pressure
• Must have basic fabrication skills
• Must have a good driving record
• Must have basic carpentry skills
• Proper use and maintenance of power and hand tools
• Must have basic blueprint reading skills
• Basic mathematical and mechanical skills
• Work independently in the absence of supervision
• Ability to work in confined spaces
• Ability to climb and work to 30' heights
• Ability to occasionally lift 100#

A high school diploma or GED. Ability to handle multiple tasks and have a positive attitude.
