Cool Sys is seeking a Foreman for our HVAC Wholesale Engineering & Maintenance team. In this hands-on field role, you'll lead installation and service crews on commercial and industrial HVAC-R projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to Cool Sys quality standards. You will coordinate with engineering, maintenance, and customers, plan daily work, assign tasks, and verify materials and equipment are ready.
The Foreman supports troubleshooting, start-ups, and repairs, reinforces our safety-first culture, trains technicians, and maintains accurate job documentation and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Lead HVAC-R installation and service crews on commercial and industrial projects
- Plan daily work, allocate labor, and ensure materials, tools, and equipment are available
- Ensure all work follows Cool
- Sys quality, safety, and technical standards
- Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, and customers on project requirements and status
- Support advanced troubleshooting, system start-ups, and commissioning
- Monitor job progress, resolve field issues, and maintain schedules
- Train, mentor, and evaluate technicians and helpers in best practices
- Complete job documentation, time sheets, and service or installation reports
- Reinforce safety-first culture, conduct toolbox talks, and enforce PPE use
- Communicate project updates and field conditions to supervisors and project managers
Required Skills
- Commercial/industrial HVAC-R systems knowledge
- HVAC installation, piping, and ductwork
- Reading and interpreting mechanical plans and schematics
- Refrigeration systems and components
- Electrical and controls basics for HVAC-RTroubleshooting and diagnostics of HVAC-R equipment
- Job planning, scheduling, and crew coordination
- Safety compliance and OSHA practices
- Brazing, soldering, and mechanical assembly
- Use of HVAC-R tools, gauges, and test instruments
