Job DescriptionCustodial Services at the University of Tennessee at Martin is currently accepting applications for a Custodian (Recycle Aide). The normal work schedule for this position is Saturday and Sunday 5:00AM-3:30PM but shift subject to change (20 hours per week). This is a regular, half-time (50% time) position.
Responsibilities- Sort through recycling materials
- Move cages using the bobcat.
- Bale Cardboard
- Load full boxes of sorted recyclables onto trailer
- Pick up recyclables at each building throughout the campus
- Train volunteers and student workers
- Help community members unload their recyclables
- Log daily recycle weights of all products
- Cleaning restroom areas after public events as needed
Minimum Qualifications
- Typically requires a high school diploma or the equivalent
- Must have valid driver’s license
- Must be able to follow written and oral instructions
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively; able to interact positively with co-workers
- Physical condition conducive to performance of labor tasks (this includes bending, reaching overhead, lifting as much as 50 pounds, stooping, climbing ladders to height of twenty feet, operation power washer, buffers, vacuums, shampoo machines and scrubbers).
- Must have good work and attendance record
- The normal work schedule is Saturday and Sunday, 5:00AM-3:30 PM (20 hour per week)
- Experience and knowledge of heavy equipment, to include operation and safety
