Part-Time Handyman​/Person

HANDYMAN/PERSON WANTED FOR WLJT-TV 11 WEST TN PBS

WLJT-TV 11 West TN PBS has an immediate opening for a part-time reliable handyman/person for facilities upkeep, janitorial duties, and lawn care of TV station offices/studio in Jackson and transmitter building in Beech Bluff.

• Perform maintenance and light repairs.
• Perform routine landscaping on the grounds.
• Spot clean facilities when necessary and weekly vacuuming and trash removal.
• Coordinate and meet various vendors (HVAC, plumbers, electricians) at facilities when needed.
• Identify and report on the need for major repairs.
• Cleaning, maintaining, organizing and proper storage of tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Moving/transporting equipment, packages, and supplies in/around facilities.
• Other tasks as assigned.

• Experience as a Handyman/person or janitor/maintenance position.
• Experience with making basic repairs.
• Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing or HVAC systems is desirable.
• Attention to detail in thoroughness of work.
• A current, valid clean Driver’s license is required and must be maintained throughout the course of employment.
• Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, in all weather conditions.
• Ability to predominantly work on their feet during working hours, and throughout the course of the day.
• Ability to lift and carry fifty (50) pounds; able to bend, reach, push, pull, load, unload, climb, etc. including the ability to work on ladders.
