Responsibilities- Develop and lead a strong, collaborative team of residential support specialists to deliver high‑quality, multi‑dimensional residential services.
- Conduct routine meetings with each assigned department and continually convey the agency’s mission, vision, and philosophy.
- Provide direct instruction, coaching, and modeling to support specialists during daily duties.
- Manage residential support staffing as indicated in annual budgets and provide direct coverage in emergencies.
- Maintain 24‑hour on‑call management coverage for all assigned departments.
- Lead the team in developing, implementing, and overseeing all activities supporting the operation of Community Living departments.
- Ensure full implementation and documentation of each person’s Individual Service Plan (ISP); attend all assessment and ISP meetings.
- Ensure staff are trained in Behavior Support Plans and that required data is collected accurately.
- Maintain residences and agency vehicles in a safe, secure, and aesthetically pleasing condition.
- Ensure the safety and security of all individuals served and report incidents promptly; conduct follow‑up activities and participate in investigations as required.
- Implement medical care needed to maintain optimal health in accordance with each person’s ISP; recognize and respond to health or behavioral changes.
- Schedule medical appointments and attend doctor’s appointments with individuals; transmit relevant medical documents to the agency nurse.
- Ensure medications are properly ordered, obtained, and administered according to physician orders; monitor medication records and report errors promptly.
- Ensure ancillary services—plans, therapies, or other services identified in ISPs—are available promptly.
- Maintain records for individuals and the department through routine review and maintenance of logs, files, and reports.
- Plan community activities with residents, ensure staff implement the schedule and document activities, and monitor ISP goal achievement.
- Manage individual funds, ensuring proper accounting and eligibility for benefits; collaborate with the Program Director and Program Coordinator.
- Complete all administrative duties, including billing documentation.
- Assist in the implementation of the state recruitment plan, staff orientation, and training.
- Observe staff and complete evaluations as assigned.
- Oversee electronic timekeeping and ensure accuracy before Program Director approval each pay period.
- Attend relevant agency events, workshops, training, and meetings.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
- Two or more years of related experience working with people with disabilities; community‑based program experience preferred.
- Minimum one‑year supervisory experience required.
- Valid health certificate, required criminal background and record checks, and a valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- May lift, move, and transfer individuals with disabilities.
- Work environment involves risks including exposure to aggressive behavior and the need for safe motor vehicle operations.
