Job Description
The University of Tennessee Knoxville, College of Social Work, through the Social Work Office of Research and Public Service (SWORPS) is accepting applications for a Coordinator for the Tennessee Child Support Employment & Parenting Program (TCSEPP). The Coordinator builds an evidence‑informed and trauma‑informed practice to assist non‑custodial parents involved with the child support system in Obion & Weakley Counties, TN. This grant‑funded position requires supporting parents to overcome barriers to employment, become stable, obtain employment, pay child support, and become self‑sufficient and active parents.
Responsibilities- Determine participant eligibility and assess barriers, making appropriate referrals for identified barriers.
- Develop individual action plans and provide one‑on‑one case management to assist participants with job readiness activities and emotional support.
- Maintain accurate records of all participant interactions in TCSES, Apricot, Excel spreadsheets, etc.
- Monitor participants’ child support eligibility and payments, program involvement, compliance, and employment.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with local agencies to assist participants with barriers to employment.
- Attend community interagency meetings to learn about and share available resources and information.
- Participate in partner meetings.
- Provide regular updates to Child Support staff and attorneys on participant progress.
- Maintain a court presence to foster a positive relationship with the Child Support legal system and to recruit and/or enroll potential participants.
- Participate in job/resource fairs.
- Perform fiscal tasks including One Card reconciliation, uploading and documenting receipts, monthly gift card reconciliation, and travel reports.
Required Qualifications
- Two years of customer/client (case management) experience. Candidates with a bachelor’s degree and an additional two years of experience may be considered.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Valid driver’s license, automobile at disposal, and current automobile liability policy with continuous coverage.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States on a full‑time basis without sponsorship.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to assess participant needs.
- Ability to develop positive, trusting relationships with participants and provide emotional support.
- Ability to positively interact with partners including child support, court, attorneys, etc.
- Ability to promote the program to potential participants, partners, and employers.
- Ability to advocate for participants.
- Ability to work independently and within a team setting.
- Ability to travel to multiple counties to serve participants.
- Ability to adapt to changing project needs.
- Excellent oral communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Experience with data management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with non‑custodial parents and/or employment programs.
- Experience collaborating with community groups and/or social service organizations.
- Hybrid position requiring travel to Obion & Weakley Counties, TN. Applicants must live within one hour of these counties.

- Anticipated hiring range: $50,000
