Job Title
Daily log, tracks and serve subpoenas received via email, faxed, US Mail, Subpoena Tracker, or in Person to Area's assigned officers. Utilize computer program to log, track and post subpoena service and Court cancellations. Act as a liaison between Courts, local and non-local Attorney's, and District Attorneys to schedule court appearances ensuring service of subpoenas. Provide Officer with appropriate arrest or accident report when requested.
File, suspense and maintain subpoena records. Accept, log, track Civil subpoenas, and ensure proper payment of witness fees are obtained and receipt is written. Utilize computer program to log, track and post civil subpoenas. Work with local and out of town attorneys to ensure dates and times of officer appearances. Ensure that all witness fees are either refunded according to Departmental policy or the attorney is billed as required by the submission of CHP 90 form.
Act as a liaison between Courts and District Attorneys regarding officer's availability status. Adhere to and understand retention schedules for CHP 90's, subpoenas and subpoena log. Ensure all documents are purged according to schedule.
