Salary: $19.88 per hour plus benefits;
Range: $18 – $31.87 per hour for internal transfers or recent rehires.
Contract Length / Days: / 182 days)

Reports to: School Principal
Education / Experience- Required: Associate’s degree (48 semester hours) or passing scores on Work Keys exam.
- Preferred: CPI training (training provided); CPR/First Aid training (training provided).
Summary / Objective: Provide an enriched atmosphere where students learn subject matter and/or skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible members of society. Facilitate learning and guide students toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional, and psychological growth and maturation. Responsible to the building principal and department director where assigned.
Essential Job Functions- Support academic programming and progress of individual students or small groups with identified significant needs.
- Provide student‑specific personal care and support.
- Assist with daily classroom activities, data collection, sanitizing equipment and materials, and providing support to staff.
- Sitting for long periods, managing many distractions, and maintaining visual, auditory, and ambulatory acuity.
- Moving quickly from one position to another in response to student needs; lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
Applicants must have the knowledge, skills, and abilities sufficient to perform the function of the position. Must be able to provide student‑specific personal care support, have previous experience working in a school setting or with children with special needs, strong verbal communication skills, a desire to work in a team setting, a positive attitude, upper body strength for lifting and carrying 50 lbs.
Paraprofessional experience preferred. Bilingual skills preferred, but not required.
