The Assistant Professor of Electrical and Instrumentation Technology provides full-time instruction in Los Medanos College's industry-aligned Electrical and Instrumentation Technology (ETEC) program. The faculty member prepares students for careers in high-skill, high-wage, and high-demand industries by teaching courses in electrical systems, automation, instrumentation, process control, troubleshooting, maintenance, and workplace safety.

In addition to classroom, laboratory, and hands-on technical instruction, the faculty member mentors and supports a diverse student population, fostering student success, retention, and career readiness. The position requires active engagement with industry partners to maintain current workforce relevance, develop internships and employment pathways, and ensure curriculum alignment with evolving industry standards and technologies.

The Assistant Professor participates in curriculum development, program review, assessment of student learning outcomes, and continuous program improvement. Faculty are expected to contribute to shared governance through committee work, college service, and collaborative initiatives that support institutional goals.

Successful candidates demonstrate a commitment to equity, inclusion, and cultural responsiveness, creating a welcoming learning environment that values diverse perspectives and experiences. The faculty member promotes a safety-first culture in all instructional and laboratory activities and works collaboratively with students, colleagues, industry partners, and community stakeholders to prepare graduates for employment and career advancement in the electrical and instrumentation fields.

Recruitment Timeline:

• 1. Initial review of applications will occur [December 2026].
• 2. Selected applicants will be contacted in [January 2027] to schedule an interview. Interviews will take place in‑person in [February 2027].
• 3. Final interviews will be held [February/March 2027]. Applicants will be responsible for travel expenses. The college nor the District reimburses for travel expenses.
