Project Manager (Remediation)
Job Description
Plan, coordinate, and execute field environmental remediation and civil construction activities to ensure that goals and objectives of the projects are accomplished within planned scopes, schedules, and budgets. Lead the development and implementation of procedures and programs, ensuring they minimize risks and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements. Direct and coordinate activities of designated projects to ensure goals or objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frames and funding parameters, either personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Responsibilities
* Evaluate client Request for Proposal (RFP) and assist in Bid No Bid Decisions.
* Prepare technical approach, cost estimate, and schedule in response to client RFP.
* Assemble project team at the start of the project (support HR in project team recruiting and screening).
* Procure tools, equipment, and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules. Depending on project size, this responsibility may be delegated to the project team.
* Direct supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of a project to prevent delays.
* Oversee supervisory personnel and labor representatives to resolve complaints and grievances within the workforce. Able to lead and/or aid in project-related conflict resolution.
* Inspect work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to project schedules.
* Prepare or review reports on progress, materials used, and costs, and adjust work schedules as indicated by reports.
* Conduct project activities within federal, state, and local rules and regulations.
* Oversee project activities at multiple sites.
* Responsible for overall conformance to project budget and schedule.
* Enforce all company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
* Provide direction to projects for proper execution of field activities.
* Negotiate change orders.
* Select and oversee subcontractors.
Essential Skills
* Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university or equivalent experience.
* Minimum 5 years of experience on environmental remediation projects.
* 5 years of experience supervising activities and personnel on ordnance avoidance and investigation, range clearance, hazardous material, and waste management project sites.
* Knowledge of MEC industry standards.
* Demonstrated project management experience and field project execution, including operations start-up and close-down, assembling and leading multi-disciplinary project teams, developing project scope, schedules, cost estimates, and budgets.
* Demonstrated experience working successfully with regulators, stakeholders, field operations, and technical staff, and managing subcontractors.
* Demonstrated experience developing and executing purchase orders and subcontracts.
* Previous involvement evaluating and preparing project proposals.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to give presentations, both one-on-one and in group settings.
* Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER training and 8-Hour Refresher.
* Ability to travel up to 25% to 50% of the time to project sites, which may be in remote locations.
* Knowledge of MS Word Office Suite Products.

Work Environment
This position involves working 50% of the time in an office setting and 50% in the field. The ability to travel up to 25% to 50% of the time to project sites, which may be in remote locations, is required.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $75.00/hr.
