This is not a desk-bound engineering role. As the Senior Electrical (Power) Engineer, you will own the electrical backbone of a large refinery, including thousands of motors, drives, protective relays, and an on-site 98.5-megawatt cogeneration power plant. Your decisions will directly impact plant safety, production uptime, and long-term asset health. You will work shoulder-to-shoulder with electricians and operators, solving real-time problems in a high-stakes environment.
Your day-to-day responsibilities stretch from engineering analysis to field execution. You will review arc flash studies, update protection settings, troubleshoot motor control centers, and manage capital projects from scope to commissioning. When the plant plans a turnaround, you are the person procuring transformers and switch gear and providing technical leadership during outages. This work keeps critical processes running safely and efficiently, meeting both operational and environmental standards.
The engineer who thrives here brings deep power systems expertise and a practical, hands-on approach. You can read a one-line diagram as easily as you write a switching procedure. You are respected by craftspeople and engineers alike because you explain complex ideas clearly and lead by example. You want a role where your technical judgment is trusted, your ideas drive real change, and you can see the results of your work every day.
If you are a power engineer looking for real authority and visible impact, this is the role you have been waiting for. Step out of pure design work and into a high-ownership position at a major refinery that values proactive problem solvers. Our client offers a strong compensation package, exceptional benefits, a 9/80 schedule, and relocation support to the Bay Area.
