Overview
Millwright Mechanic at PBF Energy Inc. (NYSE:PBF), one of the largest independent refiners in North America, is located at Martinez Refinery in California. The Millwright Mechanic maintains process equipment and machinery such as pumps, compressors, turbines, gearboxes, motors, fans, blowers, valves, and specialty equipment.
Responsibilities- Maintain, repair, and overhaul process rotating machinery in a safe and efficient manner in both shop and field environments.
- Use standard hand tools and battery‑operated tools.
- Use precision measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, protractors, and indicators).
- Interpret tolerances and dimensions from drawings, sketches, and engineering documents.
- Operate shop support equipment (saws, forklifts, overhead cranes, hydraulic presses, bearing heaters, torches, etc.).
- Climb ladders.
- Walk up and down steps.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Work at heights.
- Work in compact and confined spaces.
- Work outside in inclement weather.
- Work while wearing a respirator, PAPR, or SCBA.
- Work in areas requiring hearing protection.
Work schedule:
9/80. Callout coverage participation. Occasionally an altered work schedule over an extended period may be required (maintenance outages and turnarounds).
- High school diploma or GED.
- 4+ years of Millwright/Mechanical journeyman level work experience.
- Certification in a mechanical discipline such as union or company apprenticeship, trade school, or journeyman level machinist.
- Previous refinery or chemical plant experience.
- Active TWIC card or willingness to obtain a TWIC card.
Passing pre‑employment testing, including physical agility test, background check, and drug/alcohol screening.
PayHourly rate from $46.00 up to $58.69 an hour based on qualification requirements in the CBA.
