Description
This position has the responsibility for performing maintenance, troubleshooting, repairing, and integrating a preventative maintenance program throughout the facility. Follow all Safety PPE procedures while performing duties to include but not limited to Lock Out/Tag Out. Plan and schedule maintenance work. Preventative maintenance and repairs performed on various mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical tools and systems. Assemble, install, repair basic wiring and electrical components, basic plumbing, machinery, equipment, or systems.
Setup and manage a fully integrated CMMS (computerized maintenance management system). This system will include equipment PM service schedules, PM services BOM’s, inventory, and parts supplier information. Maintain proper housekeeping and a “zero defect” attitude on the production floor. Use maintenance knowledge to increase productivity, decrease downtime and waste and make process improvements. Makes preventive maintenance checks and inspection of assigned equipment and takes appropriate action.
Observe & test the operation of machinery & equipment to diagnose malfunctions. Replace worn, damaged or defective mechanical parts. Record parts & materials used, & order or requisition new parts & materials, as necessary. Utilizes shop drawings, manuals, and catalogs for repairs. Collaborate with Superintendent for any corrective action. Collaborate with Leadermen to ensure all maintenance logs are up to date.
Completes projects, required reports and records with little or no supervision. Leads and/or assists basic maintenance training to front line team members.
HS diploma required. Technical or trade school in maintenance preferred. Ability to read and write English. Understands math. Ability to use & read tape measure, micrometers & calipers, and other measuring devices. Minimum of 1 year of experience successfully troubleshooting and repairing industrial manufacturing equipment. Must be able to think progressively to sustain continuous improvement. Experience operating forklift equipment. Familiar with all OSHA and GMP standards & requirements.
Must be able to climb ladders and work in high places and confined spaces. Must be able to lift 50 lbs unassisted, frequent walking, standing, kneeling and sitting. Will require computer skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office software. The ability to access/compose e-mails and communicate with equipment manufacturers via phone, email, virtually (Microsoft teams). Familiarity working near moving mechanical parts, dusty conditions, high noise, all seasonal weather conditions.
Strong electrical and mechanical skills set needed to make repairs. Electrical, basic welding, hydraulic, and pneumatic knowledge preferred. Able to follow both verbal and written instructions from Supervisor. Able to communicate clearly and build strong cohesive relationships among co-workers. Work from shop drawings-read, interpret equipment manuals. Background with manufacturing methods, process improvement programs and procedures helpful.
