Electrical Technician

Central San, a progressive public utility, is seeking an Electrical Technician. This position will perform a variety of skilled tasks in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems at the treatment plant and pumping stations. Typical duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Installing and repairing electrical systems for equipment and machinery including high voltage and power distribution systems up to 12kv.
• Performing preventative and predictive maintenance on plant electrical equipment and controls.
• Testing and calibrating high voltage system protective relays.
• Maintaining and troubleshooting of variable frequency drives.
• Installing panels, miscellaneous electrical apparatus, and conduit and wiring.
• Participate in a rotating 24/7 on call system.

Minimum qualifications include:

• Education:
  
  Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade and completion of an electrical apprenticeship program.
• Experience:
  
  Three (3) years of full-time experience in maintaining, installing, and repairing a variety of electrical, electronic, and control systems common to heavy industrial processing plants. Experience working in a wastewater or water facility preferred.
• License:
  Possession of a valid California Driver's License. A valid out-of-state driver's license will be accepted during the application process. Must possess a valid California Driver's License within 90 days of appointment.

  The District does not participate in the Social Security System except for a mandatory Medicare contribution. The District also offers employees an optional Deferred Compensation 457 plan with a choice of savings and investment options.
