Experienced Auto Glass Installation Technician

Overview

As an Experienced Auto Glass Technician at Safelite, you will provide vehicle glass repair and replacement services at a Safelite Shop or Mobile Glass Shop, using Safelite’s tools and technology to perform complex repairs, replacements, and recalibrations. You’ll focus on safety, quality, and exceptional customer service while operating Safelite’s tools, such as True Seal®, Ezi‑Wire™, Glass Table System (GTS), chemicals, work order and customer administration systems, and Mobile Resource Management (MRM) technology.

• Provide all vehicle glass repair and replacement services at a Safelite Shop or Mobile Glass Shop in the most efficient manner, focusing on safety, quality, and exceptional customer service.
• Clean customer vehicles after every job.
• Recalibrate automotive safety systems, including troubleshooting and completing diagnostic testing.
• Proficiently operate Safelite’s tools and technologies.
• Safely operate company and customer vehicles throughout the workday.
• Communicate with all scheduled customers in-person, via text, and on the phone; present, promote and sell Safelite promotional items and services to customers.
• Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards.

• High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent (preferred).
• Proven experience as an Auto Glass Technician (2+ years preferred).
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license and any other license(s) required to operate a company vehicle.
• Required Safelite Safe Tech™ certification.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces, bend and twist body.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle in accordance with all federal, state and local laws.
• Professional appearance, adhering to company uniform and PPE policies.
• Proficiency with computerized diagnostic tools to complete recalibrations and troubleshoot issues.
• Strong communication skills (oral and written).
• Ability to work scheduled days with flexibility on start and end times to accommodate customer needs.
• Ability to work outside in various weather conditions and extreme temperatures.
• Ability to work with chemicals, including flammables, as applicable.
• Willingness to maintain stable performance under professional or personal pressure.
