Data Entry Operator II (DE2)

The Data Entry Operator II (DE2) is responsible for accurately and efficiently entering information from a variety of sources, including paper, media, fax and telephone. The position operates keyboard‑controlled data entry devices such as computers, key‑operated magnetic tape, or disc encoders to transcribe data into a format suitable for computer processing. The job requires skill in operating an alphanumeric keyboard and an understanding of transcribing procedures and relevant data entry equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Accurately and efficiently perform data entry of forms and reports specific to assignment area and other forms as directed by supervisor.
  • Prepping, labeling, and filing records in preparation for document imaging.
  • Identifying and submitting potential problems or issues to appropriate level of management.
  • Possessing a strong ability to navigate various computer functions, including accessing and utilizing web browsers.
Qualifications
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and follow policies and procedures.
  • Experience in performing work requiring attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good sense of time management and the ability to work under time constraints.
  • Understanding of the importance of consistently delivering high‑quality work.
  • Work as a team player.
  • Strong sense of customer service.
  • Basic computer skills, including accurate use of keyboard, familiarity with web browsers and basic Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to type at a minimum of 40 words per minute.
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to perform frequent repetitive motions using fingers, hands, wrists, and arms.
  • Ability to apply experience and judgment in selecting procedures to be followed and in searching for, interpreting, selecting items to be entered from a variety of documented sources.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain MRPT facility credentials/authorization; US Citizenship is required for MRPT facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Three months in current position.
  • Some telephonic customer service skills preferred.
Compensation

This is an hourly, overtime‑eligible position under the Service Contract Act (SCA). In addition to the base hourly rate, employees may be eligible to receive an additional health and welfare payment for each hour worked.
