Important Notice – Current Employees:
Current Boone County Schools employees selected for this position may or may not be permitted to assume the new assignment until the 2027–2028 instructional term, depending upon the employee's current position and the applicable transfer provisions of West Virginia law.

Under W. Va. Code §18A-2-7b, after the twentieth day prior to the beginning of the instructional term, a professional employee generally may not transfer to another professional position during that instructional term. The statute provides that an employee may apply for a posted vacancy, with the successful applicant "assuming the position at the beginning of the next instructional term."
