TERM OF EMPLOYMENT
Remainder of the school year, then a 240-day contract thereafter, contingent upon satisfactory performance, funding, and Board approval, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
SALARY

SUPERVISES: Personnel serving in the assigned school as assigned by the principal.
QUALIFICATIONS- Holds or is eligible for a valid West Virginia Administrative Certificate endorsed as Principal or Assistant Principal.
- Meets all requirements established by the West Virginia Department of Education and West Virginia Code.
- Demonstrates strong instructional leadership, communication, organizational, and collaborative skills.
The Assistant Principal serves as a collaborative instructional leader who assists in the administration and supervision of the school program. The successful candidate will support academic achievement, data-informed decision making, continuous school improvement, and professional growth for all staff while promoting a positive learning environment for students. While the Assistant Principal will have primary responsibility for grades 7–9, this position is an Assistant Principal for the entire school.
The Assistant Principal will work across all grade levels and programs and will assist with school wide instructional leadership, student discipline, attendance, safety, supervision, staff support, school improvement, and daily operations.
Instructional Leadership
- Support implementation of high-quality instructional practices aligned to WV standards.
- Foster a culture of high expectations and academic excellence.
- Assist with curriculum implementation, assessment practices, and school improvement initiatives.
- Organize and oversee credit recovery, including In-Person services provide during the summer. Minimum of 10 days available for in-person student support.

Data Analysis and School Improvement
- Analyze student achievement, attendance, behavioral, and programmatic data to inform decision making.
- Assist in development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the Strategic School Improvement Plan.
- Support staff in using data to improve instructional effectiveness and student outcomes.
Professional Growth and Staff Development
- Promote a collaborative professional learning culture.
- Support and facilitate professional development aligned with district and school priorities.
- Provide mentoring, coaching, and feedback to support continuous staff growth and effectiveness.
School Culture and Operations
- Assist in maintaining a safe, orderly, and supportive school environment.
- Support student attendance, discipline, and engagement initiatives.
- Collaborate with families and community stakeholders to support student success.
Professional Responsibilities
- Demonstrate professionalism, ethical conduct, confidentiality, and integrity.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws, policies, and regulations.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Principal or Superintendent.
