Position OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our organization as an Event Support team member. This part‑time position plays a vital role in ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for guests at the High Adventure Base. The Event Support employee works collaboratively with the Event Specialist and demonstrates the ability to independently set up venues based on instructions.
The Event Support position reports to the Director of Summit Operations.
Responsibilities- Provide hospitality services for special events including meetings, retreats, meals, weddings, and other occasions.
- Perform tasks such as setting up furniture, decorations, and catering supplies.
- Interact positively with guests and staff of all ages and backgrounds, resolving any issues that may arise and ensuring a welcoming environment.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of customer service and hospitality best practices; food and beverage service standards;
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams). - Skill in written and verbal communication; time management and prioritization; problem‑solving and conflict resolution; use of PC‑based applications for communication and coordination; emotional intelligence for navigating group dynamics and interacting with a diverse clientele.
- Ability to maintain physical fitness to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs and walking/hiking for extended periods; work independently to set up venues after receiving instruction from Event Specialist; interact with customers of all ages and maturity levels; abide by policies and procedures outlined in the S staff handbook; maintain a cheerful attitude and servant leader disposition.
While no specific education level is required, a high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
Qualifications- Minimum of 1 year of experience in customer service, hospitality, or a related field, including food and beverage services.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Must pass a criminal history background check.
- Must pass the physical exam and be approved for S height and weight requirements.
- Strong time‑management and prioritization skills and working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) are required.
- Experience in food and beverage services.
- Be or become a registered member of Scouting America.
