IT Project Manager, IT Consultant, Systems Administrator, Cybersecurity
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Vice President of IT to lead our Information Technology department in a multi-site manufacturing company. The VP of IT will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization's IT infrastructure, systems, and operations. This includes developing and implementing an IT roadmap aligned with business goals, managing the IT budget and ensuring the security, reliability, and availability of IT systems.
This role will also be charged with leading the IT team, driving technological innovation including AI and ensuring the team and systems are sustainable and scalable for growth. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader with strong technical expertise, exceptional management skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Develop and execute a forward-thinking IT strategy that supports the organization's mission, vision, and long-term objectives. Evaluate emerging technologies and assess their potential to enhance business operations and competitive advantage.
- Act as a bridge between technical teams and executive management. Communicate technology strategies and changes to stakeholders effectively.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the IT department staff. Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, succession planning, and high performance. Oversee recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and professional development for the IT team.
- Ensure the reliable, secure, and efficient operation of all IT systems, including networks, servers, cloud services, databases, applications, and end-user support.
- Oversee the planning, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure projects, including managing external partners.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key technology vendors and service providers while evaluating their performance and ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
- Establish and maintain robust cybersecurity defenses and protocols to protect organizational data, intellectual property, and systems from threats. Develop and manage comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity plans. Ensure compliance with relevant data privacy and security regulations.
- Develop and implement an IT governance framework through an IT steering committee focused on supporting business leader stakeholders by prioritizing technology projects from a need and resource requirement, both funding and personnel.
- Partner closely with other department heads and senior leadership to understand their technology needs and challenges. Serve as a trusted advisor on technology-related matters and effectively communicate IT strategies and initiatives across the organization.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of IT projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meeting defined objectives.
- Identify opportunities to leverage technology to improve business processes, enhance productivity, and drive innovation. Champion the adoption of new technologies and methodologies where appropriate.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related technical field required.
- 7-10+ years of progressive experience in Information Technology roles, with a minimum of 3-5+ years in a leadership or management position.
- High level of integrity and ethical conduct.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Proven track record of successfully managing IT operations, infrastructure, and projects.
- Experience in developing and executing IT strategies that align with business objectives.
- Prior manufacturing experience required.
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles, risk management frameworks, and data protection regulations.
- Experience managing IT budgets and vendor relationships.
- Familiarity with QAD, Salesforce, Boomi, Cisco a plus.
- Experience with IT governance frameworks is a plus.
- Office-based role and occasional business-related domestic travel (no more than 20%).
- On-call availability for critical issues.
- Regularly moving about facilities and occasional need to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds.
