The Blender 2 at Cornerstone Building Brands is responsible for operating and monitoring computerized blending equipment that combines raw materials into compounds used in extrusion. Reporting directly to the Materials Manager, this Grade 2 position maintains batch-to-batch consistency, supports the safe and reliable flow of materials from railcars, silos, hoppers, and totes, and accurately records blend production information.
You will be comfortable working in an active manufacturing environment, using computerized systems, operating powered industrial vehicles, handling material dusts, and completing physically demanding work that includes walking, standing, pulling, lifting, and climbing.

Base Pay: $29.00 - $34.80 per hour, plus $1.15 per hour shift differential
5th Shift: Friday night and Saturday night 11:00 pm

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure consistent raw-material weights and balances when producing extrusion compounds.
Operate and monitor the computerized blending network, analyze output, correct inconsistencies, and maximize production utilization.
Verify that gates, scales, motors, and temperature and AMP gauges are properly sequenced and working.
Move and unload railcars as needed, adjust outflow valves, and complete receiving, releasing, and spotting paperwork.
Stage micro-ingredients, restock upper blend levels and hoppers, and change totes before the end of the shift.
Record shift totals and blend-operation data in BPCS and production spreadsheets.
Perform preventive-maintenance checks, submit work orders, and assist Maintenance as needed.
Operate powered industrial vehicles, including forklifts, and complete required safety and damage inspections.
Maintain clean and orderly control-room, blend-tower, silo, railcar, and work areas.
Perform month-end inventories and actively participate in plant safety programs.
Perform Extrusion Associate 1 functions and other related duties as assigned.
High school diploma or GED
At least 90 days of demonstrated proficiency in a computer-automated environment
Proficiency in full blend and material handling operations; the ability to perform Material Handling 1 and 2 functions is preferred
A valid driver’s license or medical clearance from a physician to operate a powered industrial vehicle (PIT)
Ability to use computerized systems and accurately record weights, inventory, receiving information, and production data
Strong reading and numeric comprehension, communication, organization, manual dexterity, attention to detail, and ability to keep material colors separate
Ability to walk, stand, pull, and lift; move up to 86 pounds independently and 87 to 100 pounds with assistance; and…
