Compensation: $43.84–$66.84 per hour
The Role
Mayo Clinic is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Medical Oncology Unit (Eisenberg 44-43). This unit provides inpatient and outpatient care for adult patients with solid tumors, supporting patients through diagnosis, active treatment, recovery, and end‑of‑life care. Nurses work within Mayo Clinic’s Relationship-Based Care model to deliver compassionate, evidence‑based oncology care.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and deliver comprehensive nursing care for oncology patients.
- Administer chemotherapy, infusion therapy, antibiotics, and central line care.
- Provide symptom management, discharge planning, and patient/family education.
- Offer emotional support throughout the cancer care journey.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary care teams.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and serve as a mentor or preceptor when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate documentation using electronic medical records.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ACEN, CCNE, or NLN CNEA).
- One year of RN experience required.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (within 90 days of hire).
- Strong communication, leadership, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.
- Experience with electronic medical record systems preferred.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and on‑call shifts.
- Full‑Time (48–72 hours per pay period)
- Rotating 8‑ or 12‑hour day, evening, and night shifts
- Variable weekend schedule.
- Competitive pay: $43.84–$66.84 per hour
