Registered Nurse
This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Telemetry specialty. Candidates will work three 12-hour day shifts per week with rotating weekends and holidays. There are opportunities for precepting available in this role. The unit is currently composed of two floors with a focus on telemetry acuity. Each floor has a specific number of beds designated for patient care. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5 for both day and night shifts.
Nurses will be responsible for monitoring patients with telemetry equipment. Patients may include those post-cardiac interventions and oncology cases. The unit offers support from dedicated respiratory therapists and pharmacy services. Common procedures may require managing IV drips and operating equipment such as Bipap and Cpap. Personal protective measures ensure a safe working environment. Scrub colors for this position are navy blue with specific guidelines for outerwear and appearance.
Only BLS and ACLS certifications are required for candidates. Nurses will document patient data and observations in an electronic health record system. This role may involve collaboration with hospitalists and intensivists as needed. Regular schedule requests should be planned at least two weeks in advance. Floating to other units is rare, but may occur if necessary. The facility emphasizes efficient communication and teamwork among staff.
