Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Telemetry Nurse Opportunity

Provide specialized nursing care to telemetry patients, monitoring cardiac health using advanced technology and clinical judgment. Ensure patient safety, accurate documentation, and effective communication with the healthcare team.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' cardiac status and interpret telemetry monitor readings.
• Administer prescribed medications, including drips such as Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Labetolol, ensuring titration protocols are followed.
• Continuously monitor and document patient vital signs, EKG strips, and response to treatments in the electronic medical record (Epic).
• Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, and RTs to coordinate care and respond to emergencies.
• Maintain unit supplies, manage monitor hardware, and adhere to infection control standards.
• Follow unit-specific protocols for patient care, including handling high-acuity cases like STEMI, NSTEMI, and post-surgical patients.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with current state licensure.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Prior experience in telemetry or cardiac care preferred.
• Ability to interpret EKG strips and respond promptly to changes.
• Strong assessment, communication, and documentation skills.
• Willingness to work every-other-weekend and holiday rotation.
