Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical – Neuro

Job Summary:

Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Med Surg Neuro unit, ensuring safety, comfort, and optimal health outcomes. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions and develop personalized care plans based on physician orders and patient needs.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments, including Heparin and Protonix, following protocol.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, recognizing critical arrhythmias and responding appropriately.
• Document patient progress, interventions, and responses accurately in the Epic EMR system.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and patient turnovers, supporting unit operations.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, including infection control, safety procedures, and dress code standards.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 1 year recent med-surg neuro nursing experience.
• Basic knowledge of arrhythmia recognition and cardiac monitoring.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred.
• Able to work 12-hour shifts, with flexibility for 8-hour shifts if needed.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and reliability skills.
