Payscale:
Payscale D with years of expierence (minimum $31,220-maximum $43,700) plus any college hours plus competitive benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation.

SUMMARY
:
A vacancy exists for a bus operator for the Transportation Department for bus #251 working approximately 5:30 am - 9:00 am & approximately 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm (subject to change).

This bus run consists of transporting students to and from Musselman Middle, Musselman High, Bunker Hill Elementary and Mill Creek Elementary. Please contact Patrick Ashton or Josh Sowers for specific details.

The route is subject to change with additions and/or adjustments as necessary. This bus will serve as a transfer bus as needed.

Qualifications are included on the attached job description. Employees, regular and substitutes, who have never held the classification of bus operator, will be required to meet all county and state mandated bus operators' regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform pre/post trip inspections
• Learn route, including pick up and drop off locations
• Safely use fire extinguisher
• Assist and supervise students with disabilities
• Communicate with students, parents, school officials and supervisors
• Mop and clean inside and outside the vehicle
• Complete proper paperwork
• Work overtime as needed
• Ability to sit for long periods of time
• Ability to tolerate ill children and clean up from student sickness accidents
• Walk from the operator’s seat to the rear of the bus
• Open all emergency exits
• Install snow chains on a bus
• Raise the hood of a conventional school bus and check oil levels and antifreeze levels
• Remove obstructions from wind shield and under wiper blades
• Adjust all outside mirrors
• Secure a wheelchair
• Complete monthly reports accurately and on time
• Conduct a rules and regulations orientation each year on each regular bus run
• Bring bus to garage for regularly scheduled maintenance
