Want to make an impact? We are excited to announce several anticipated part‑time positions for Summer 2027, including roles in leadership, program implementation, and cabin life. Our team is looking for energetic and passionate individuals to join us in creating unforgettable summer experiences!

Our recreational therapy internship offers a unique, hands‑on opportunity to work at one of the top outdoor centers in the Midwest, serving youth and adults with disabilities and complex medical needs in a residential camp setting.

• Gains practical experience with the APIED process, camper care planning, adaptive recreation programming, and medical/personal care procedures.
• Helps facilitate a variety of camp activities, such as ropes courses, creative arts, nature, archery, aquatic activities, adaptive sports and many more.
• Assists in planning and leading specialized therapeutic programs for leadership academy campers with cancer and craniofacial anomalies.
• Receives comprehensive training in disability awareness, universal design, and leadership development.
• Builds strong professional connections with organizations like Riley Children's Foundation and other nonprofit organizations.
• Supervised by a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS).

• High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)

• Some college

• Completing internship to meet National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification requirements
• Previous camp experience, Bradford Woods camp experience, or similar medical camp
• Experience guiding or mentoring youth

• Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid Certifications upon date of hire

• Clear and effective communication
• Experience guiding or mentoring youth, with a passion for inspiring growth and development in others.
• Ability to think critically and resolve conflicts or unexpected situations calmly and efficiently.
• Ability to design engaging, fun, and educational activities that adapt to different age groups and abilities.
