As the Lead Counselor
, you will be responsible for providing leadership, guidance, and clinical support to the counseling team while managing a personal caseload. This role plays a critical part in enhancing the effectiveness and quality of the counseling program by developing and implementing treatment initiatives, overseeing service delivery, and supporting the professional development of teammates. The Lead Counselor may also provide coverage for the Clinical Director during their absence.

- Master's degree specializing in psychology and/or counseling from an accredited college or university.
- Licensure or certification for counseling as a LCSW or LMHC in the state of Indiana.
- Three (3) years’ experience in substance abuse and/or related field.
- Post Master’s degree training in psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
- Five (5) years of experience in counseling or case management.
- Ensures completion of patient databases, treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, and other essential documentation the same day as patient encounters and as required by state, federal, and accreditation standards.
- Maintains a caseload of approximately twelve (12) patients.
- Performs all tasks related to counseling to include completion of initial and master treatment plans, ASAM assessments, individual service plans, ARTS where applicable, biopsychosocial, discharge summaries and individualized/group therapy.
- Assures that patients are assessed and placed at an appropriate level of treatment according to state and federal guidelines.
- Counsel patients and address individual needs of the patients.
- Arrange referrals and community information for patients as appropriate.
- Assures all documentation is collected from patients as required by state and federal standards, within the regulated time frames.
- Submit required statistical and other data as required.
- Shall provide and obtain the following therapeutic services as determined by the Treatment Team and specified in the patient’s Individual Treatment Plan: individual counseling, family counseling, group counseling, community activity referrals, evidence-based outcome assessments, ASAM assessments, and other components of the treatment program.
- Report all relevant developments and information affecting patients and facility operation.
- Shall provide teammate coverage as scheduled.
- May lead treatment team discussion.
- Coordinates care with the multi-disciplinary team, including but not limited to developing a system to ensure UM requirements are met with Clinical Coordinator or Clinical Director daily.
- Enliven compassionate care and empower patients to realize their best level of functioning in the community.

Masters or better in Psychology.
Masters or better in Social Work or related field.
ExperienceSubstance Abuse Counseling and / or related field.
