Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant position supports the accounting department with day to day accounting activities along with creating accurate and timely financial records and reports for the Company.

• Prepare accounting records, including financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance with generally accepted accounting principles
• Review records of general ledger accounts
• Develop and implement proper keeping of financial records, making use of current technologies
• Review financial schedules to ensure accuracy and ensure work paper documentation is sufficient
• Prepare journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations and assist with monthly close processes
• Assist in preparation of analytical reports used for monthly closing variance reviews
• Perform daily administrative duties
• Assist in the Accounts Payable process

• Associate’s degree in Accounting or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
• Prior experience with Accounting and General Ledger or Banking preferred

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Competent knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Strong analytical skills
• Perform detailed work accurately and timely
• Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines

• Standing, walking, bending and stooping required
• Must be able to sit at a desk for long periods of time and use a computer
• Must be able to occasionally move or lift up to 10 pounds
• May be asked to work supplemental hours periodically
• Limited travel required during and after business hours
