The Junior Staff Accountant position is responsible to the accounting department in creating accurate and timely financial records for the Bank.

• Assist with preparing accounting records, including financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance with generally accepted accounting principles
• Increase knowledge of accounting concepts and duties by assisting Staff Accountant and other accounting staff
• Develop an understanding of the Bank’s accounting systems
• Prepare general ledger journal entries
• Review records of general ledger accounts and input entries into proper accounts
• Develop and implement proper keeping of financial records, making use of current technologies
• Review financial schedules to ensure accuracy and work paper documentation
• Assist in the Accounts Payable Process

• High school diploma or equivalent required, associate’s degree in finance, accounting, or equivalent field preferred

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Competent knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Perform detailed work accurately and timely

• Standing, walking, bending and stooping required
• Must be able to sit at a desk for long periods of time and use a computer
• Must be able to occasionally move or lift up to 10 pounds
• May be asked to work supplemental hours periodically
• Limited travel required occasionally during and after business hours
