200-day contract
Seeking qualified teacher to provide classroom instruction at the high school level. Reports to and is evaluated by the Principal.
Length of employment is 200 days (10 months); contract renewable in accordance with School Board policy and the Code of Virginia.
Qualifications:
Hold or be eligible for licensure in Virginia with appropriate endorsement
- Demonstrated understanding of standards-based curriculum, research-based instructional strategies, and effective assessment practices
- Ability to model and promote a culture of high expectations for student and staff performance
- Understanding of continuous school improvement and Effective Schools research
- Ability to disaggregate and use data to inform instruction
- Experience working with diverse populations, including students with disabilities, English language learners, students who live in poverty, and students who are gifted
- Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work in a collaborative/shared-leadership environment
