Outside Plant Engineer

• Meet potential business customers on-site and assess their needs related to obtaining services; complete field notes for potential construction projects.
• Identify equipment and duct space available for fiber placement and submit a report, including pictures, of the findings.
• Design and prepare Engineering Work Orders for primarily Ethernet orders and related land development, new building, single line, rehab, DSL, FTTN, FTTH, FTTT, road relocation, augmentation projects and special circuit requests.
• Use AutoCAD, company proprietary applications, and the full suite of Microsoft Office applications for design work.
• Acquire civil permits for local municipalities.
• Maintain positive interaction with internal and external customers; maintain open conversation with Planning and all company departments to provide high quality service to Outsource customers.

• Previous OSP field and/or design engineering experience.
• Field engineering and site survey experience.
• Strong communication and computer skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel throughout mid and south Virginia.
• Physical site surveys will be required.
• Clean background check, clean driving record, and drug test pass required.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and be a local candidate.

Training will be provided to those that qualify.
