Institutional Analytics & AI Specialist

Patrick & Henry Community College is a comprehensive two‑year institution in Martinsville, VA committed to student success and lifelong learning.

Position Summary

Full‑time (Mon‑Fri 8:00‑17:00). The AI and Institutional Analytics Specialist supports the college’s analytics and institutional effectiveness initiatives by developing dashboards, improving data access, reporting, and advancing AI and emerging technology adoption. The role provides technical support for data analysis, workflow innovation, and responsible AI adoption to improve operational efficiency and student success outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain data dashboards and reporting tools.
  • Improve data access and quality across institutional research functions.
  • Support reporting processes for institutional effectiveness.
  • Advise on and implement AI and emerging technologies to enhance analytics.
  • Collaborate with departments and leadership to translate data insights into action.
  • Manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and support workflow improvement, automation, and process optimization.
  • Research and adopt emerging technologies and ensure responsible use.
Qualifications
  • Experience with data analytics and business intelligence tools (SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Python, R).
  • Knowledge of AI concepts, applications, and ethical considerations.
  • Familiarity with institutional research, data governance, and data quality practices.
  • Strong analytical, critical‑thinking, and data‑storytelling skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Capacity to collaborate across departments and with leadership.
  • Experience with workflow improvement, automation, and process optimization.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and institutional effectiveness.
  • Adaptability in a changing technology landscape.
