Job Summary
Bassett Furniture is seeking a General Maintenance & Lawn Care Technician for our Martinsville and Bassett manufacturing facilities. This position is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks. The Maintenance and Lawn Care worker will perform preventive maintenance and repairs of all equipment, buildings, and grounds at our manufacturing locations.
Job Summary
Bassett Furniture is seeking a General Maintenance & Lawn Care Technician for our Martinsville and Bassett manufacturing facilities. This position is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks. The Maintenance and Lawn Care worker will perform preventive maintenance and repairs of all equipment, buildings, and grounds at our manufacturing locations.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Inspect and identify equipment or machines in need of repair.
- Troubleshoot issues to determine necessary repairs.
- Perform general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include painting, repairing doors as well as other building fixtures.
- Perform routine maintenance on building systems.
- Assist with upkeep of facilities including mowing, mulching, and general landscaping.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices. Identify and report any unsafe conditions.
- Perform other related duties assigned.
- Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Skill in safe operation of equipment such as mowers, UTVs and vehicles.
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Related experience preferred.
- On-the-job training offered.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods standing and walking.
- Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
