Monday-Friday, 8a-5p (no call/no weekends).

• Responsible for insertion of peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC).
• Provide maintenance and follow‑up care for PICC lines and central lines.
• Initiate training and education for nursing staff, patients and families as required.
• Perform assessment skills.
• Plan nursing care.
• Intervene with appropriate action after needs are identified.
• Evaluate the assessment, planning and intervention process.
• Provide specialized knowledge, assessment, and skills in obtaining and maintaining vascular access and troubleshooting vascular access devices.
• Perform appropriate application of the device algorithm.
• Perform ultrasound‑guided peripheral IV starts.
• Administer Cath Flow for obstructed lines per physician order.

• Graduate of a professional nursing school.
• Current VA RN license or compact state license.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
• American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within one year of employment.
• Previous experience as a vascular access nurse.
