- Insert and maintain Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICC).
- Provide maintenance and follow-up care for PICC lines and central lines.
- Initiate training and education for nursing staff, patients, and families as required.
- Perform assessment, care planning, and intervention for vascular access patients.
- Apply device algorithms and troubleshoot vascular access devices.
- Perform ultrasound-guided peripheral IV starts.
- Administer Cath Flow for obstructed lines per physician order.
- Graduate of a professional school of nursing.
- Current VA RN license or compact state license.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within one year of employment.
- Previous experience as a vascular access nurse.
