Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Med Surg – Days

Sign on bonus: $15,000

Schedule:

12 hour shifts, full-time requiring 36 hours per week with every other weekend. Shift times 7A-7P.

Hourly range: $22.20 to $29.97 per hour

This Acute Care position includes a mix of Med/Surg and Telemetry patients.

• Contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN.
• Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care; may administer medication.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Assists RN with development of plan of care.
• Assists patients with daily living activities including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Monitors, documents, and communicates patient status and responses to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and family.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts/units as needed.

• The right person provides direct patient care under supervision and delegation by a registered nurse in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
• Graduate of a practical nursing school.
• Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse from the Virginia State Board of Nursing or a Compact State.
• AHA BLS certification required.
• Previous experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• Meditech experience preferred.
• Minimum 36 hours per week including every other weekend.
