We’re partnered with a growing organization looking to add a Project Accountant to support project financials from setup through close-out. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys owning the numbers behind active projects and partnering closely with operations and project managers.
What You’ll Do- Manage project setup, budgeting, and cost tracking across multiple active projects
- Prepare and review monthly project billings (T&M, fixed fee, or % complete)
- Track costs, analyze variances, and flag risks or overruns
- Support month-end close including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
- Partner with Project Managers to ensure accurate forecasting and reporting
- Assist with audits, contract compliance, and documentation as needed
- 2–5+ years of accounting experience with project-based environments
- Strong understanding of accrual accounting and month-end close
- Experience with project billing and cost accounting
- Advanced Excel skills (pivots, lookups; macros a plus)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- WIP, revenue recognition, or percentage-of-completion exposure
- Experience supporting audits or working with external stakeholders
- High-visibility role partnering directly with project leadership
- Opportunity to grow into Senior Project Accountant or Accounting Manager
- Stable workload with clear ownership of projects
