We are seeking an experienced Tax Supervisor to join our growing Commercial practice. This individual will play an important role in managing tax engagements for middle‑market commercial businesses across a variety of industries. The Tax Supervisor will work closely with managers and partners to deliver high‑quality client service, oversee compliance engagements, provide tax planning support, and assist in the development of staff.

This role requires strong technical knowledge, organizational skills, and the ability to build and maintain client relationships.

  • Supervise and manage tax engagements for S‑corporations, partnerships, and LLCs across a variety of industries, including manufacturing, construction, and real estate.
  • Review federal, state, and local tax returns to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely filing.
  • Assist with tax planning, consulting, and research projects for clients.
  • Identify tax issues and develop practical solutions and recommendations for clients.
  • Serve as a primary day‑to‑day contact for clients and maintain strong professional relationships.
  • Supervise, mentor, and train tax associates and senior associates, providing guidance and performance feedback.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with audit and advisory teams to deliver integrated client solutions.
  • Stay current on tax laws, regulations, and industry trends to ensure compliance and provide informed recommendations.
  • Perform, document, summarize, and review tax research related to complex tax matters.
  • Manage multiple engagements and competing priorities while meeting deadlines and maintaining high‑quality service standards.
Qualifications
  • Must be able to work in the office a minimum of 3 days per week.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited college/university required.
  • Active CPA license, EA certification, or progress toward certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting, with a focus on commercial or middle‑market business clients.
  • Strong technical expertise in S‑corp, partnership, and multistate taxation.
  • Experience with 1040 and 1041 taxation a plus.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite required;
    Knowledge of CCH Axcess preferred.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and mentor team members.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with executive presence.
  • Performing, documenting, summarizing, and reviewing research conclusions regarding specific tax issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and contribute to firm growth.
