Tharros is seeking a Payroll/Accounts Payable Specialist who is highly motivated and brings a positive & adaptable approach to the team. As an integral member of our accounting division, the Payroll Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and profitability of our financial operations. In this role, you will be responsible for all accounts payable activities and payroll functions.

This role requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially. This position offers a hybrid work schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Payroll:
    • Process a semi-monthly payroll for all employees.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
    • Maintain payroll records and prepare reports.
    • Handle payroll inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
  • Accounts Payable:
    • Process and verify invoices for payment.
    • Maintain vendor records and ensure timely payments.
    • Reconcile accounts payable transactions.
    • Assist in month-end closing and financial reporting.
  • General Accounting Support:
    • Assist with general ledger entries and reconciliations.
    • Support audit and various other financial activities.
    • Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
Qualifications
  • BS in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Experience can substitute for education.
  • 2 years of experience in payroll and accounts payable desired.
  • Proficiency in accounting and payroll software (Unanet and UKG experience preferred).
  • Strong understanding of payroll laws and regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite to include Teams or similar workplace chat and videoconferencing tools.

    • Intermediate/advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
    • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

    • Ability to analyze financial data and generate reports.
