Job Description

We are planning to double our size in the next two years and need a "Hands on" Controller to dig in and work side-by-side to help us manage this growth and ensure we prosper along the way.

Tyler Service Solutions is a commercial construction contractor that provides plumbing and HVAC installation services for buildings in the DMV area. We have developed a reputation for excellence in the industry and are fortunate to have loyal customers that recognize the benefits of our knowledge and solid track record. Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in both cost and financial accounting practices within this industry that will help us to better manage our business, and interpret and understand our margins and results.

Responsibilities
  • Working along with our staff to manage our accounting processes and general ledger and ensure income and expenses are properly allocated and accounts properly reconciled
  • Making necessary journal entries and preparing timely, accurate financial statement using Timberline/Sage 300
  • Primary responsibility for contract and job cost accounting on percentage of completion basis, including preparation of monthly AIA invoices
  • Cash flow management, reporting, and projections
  • Maintaining banking relationships
  • Preparing financial budgets and projections and working closely with the company management to plan for and manage growth
  • Overseeing the in-house payroll function and/or assisting with outsourcing
Requirements
  • Minimum of 7 years of on-the-job accounting experience in the commercial construction industry
  • Minimum of 5 years of Timberline/Sage 300 software experience
  • Full understanding of financial statements preparation
  • Ability to multi-task and successfully manage a small staff
  • Ability to work independently, foster a team environment, remain flexible and work in a fast‑paced changing environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • This is a job that requires you to be in our Urbana office daily for work
