Temporary Staff Accountant

Our client is seeking a Temporary Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations and assist with month-end close activities. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who can quickly integrate into a team, maintain accuracy in financial reporting, and provide immediate support during periods of growth, transition, system implementation, leave coverage, or increased workload.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and post journal entries.
  • Perform account reconciliations, including bank and general ledger accounts.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Analyze financial data and investigate discrepancies.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
  • Maintain and reconcile fixed asset schedules.
  • Assist with general ledger maintenance and financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and audit preparation activities.
  • Participate in special projects, process improvements, and system-related initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
  • Experience with general ledger accounting and reconciliations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including formulas and pivot tables.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Net Suite, Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, Quick Books, or similar platforms preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience
  • Month-end close support.
  • Financial statement preparation.

  • Fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
  • Variance analysis and reporting.
  • Multi-entity or multi-location accounting environments.
