Overview
Prince George’s County Department of Permitting, Inspections, & Enforcement is seeking an Administrative Assistant (Administrative Assistant 1A), grade A18/21, in the Quality Assurance/Quality Control Unit of the DPIE. This position provides entry-level professional and administrative support to the Permit Navigator Program and Third-Party Review inquiries, handles paperwork for approval and discipline of program participants, and supports overflow requests for the Permit Navigator Program.
Responsibilities- Provide administrative support to the Third-Party Reviewer and Permits Navigator Program.
- Monitor and evaluate information requests from departments/agencies to ensure timely responses using procedural knowledge and interpersonal skills.
- Write and prepare final correspondence and remarks for supervisor and/or designee.
- Draft non-routine letters, memoranda, narrative reports, and other correspondence for signature of supervisor and/or designee.
- Perform routine duties to assist supervisor with special projects (e.g., budget reviews, resolutions, programs) as directed by supervisor and/or designee.
- Prepare and complete special projects and assignments to keep the supervisor informed, using planning, coordination, and organizational techniques.
- Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Liberal Arts, one of the Social Sciences, Public or Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
Some secretarial and general clerical experience or related area. - An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, advanced Excel), Outlook, PDF tools, Project Dox, and Power BI; experience with audit support, data entry, and records management; ability to write reports and procedures; ability to present information and respond to questions from management, customers, and the public.
